More detailed description: SKIPJACK is the most popular tuna for consumption. It has dark purplish-blue above, lower sides and belly silvery-white, with four to six conspicuous, longitudinal, dark stripes .they are short life species.
SKIPJACK can be found all over the world within tropical ocean between 45 n and 45 s. they swim in the upper mixed layers of the ocean. It is highly migratory within tropical waters. Large schools sometimes mix with small yellowfin. Normally dolphins do not swim together with the small SKIPJACK, which almost makes it a guaranteed dolphin-safe product.
 Product characteristics: the meat of the SKIPJACK has a somewhat darker of color sometimes even slightly pinkish. Then it has a relatively tender texture, and it has somewhat more of a fishy taste than some other tuna species.
