History

Mahsulat Daryaee Junoob Co., as the producer of various kinds of canned tuna, was registered in 1987 in Tehran to operate in the fields of processing and packaging of foodstuff and seafood. It obtained the agreement in principle for the establishment of a tuna cannery in a space as large as 4000 m2. In 1993, this corporation started up to produce canned tuna, packed in 180 gram cans, after constructing the factory, being equipped with machinery and acquiring the necessary permissions.

It continued its activity alongside other old and powerful rivals on the market. After five-year production of canned tuna with common lids, Mahsulat Daryaee Junoob Co. started its new round of activity in 1999 with a change in ownership and management. It has increased the variety of its products by producing canned fish with olive oil and easy-open ends; therefore, it gained a further share of the market.

In 2006, this company constructed its new warehouses and industrial refrigerators after purchasing a land adjacent to the cannery with an area of 1750 m2 and renovated all different divisions of the cannery fundamentally based on the latest international standards.

Mahsulat Daryaee Junoob Co., as the producer of the Sahel canned tuna, is one of the factories which take the advantage of availability of fresh fishes for producing canned tuna, due to its location on the southern coasts of Iran (Bandar Abbas).

Adjacency to the sea, the possibility of using fresh and high quality raw materials, not using any kind of preservatives, commitment of this complex to the quality stability and utilizing olive oil in some types of products, which plays a role in decreasing the blood's unfavorable fats for its omega3 unsaturated fatty acids, all are important factors which have helped Sahel Canned Tuna to fix its place in the customers' shopping basket.

Mahsulat Daryaee Junoob Co., as the producer of Sahel Canned Tuna, has achieved many successes during its activity. Selection of this complex as the exemplary industrial unit by Iran’s Standard Office in 2005 and as the green unit of the industries located in the Iranian Province of Hormozgan by the Hormozgan General Environment Office in 2009 is among achievements of this company in the last few years.
